6 Tips Every Female Entrepreneur Can Implement Right Away to Obtain Inner Peace

Have you ever noticed how some people never seem to let anything get under their skin? Sometimes it’s like they are walking around in lalaland… 

Now I don’t know about you, but being a female entrepreneur is far from lalaland. In fact, on some day’s it seems as if my days are more like Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (nah, just kidding, well maybe not — ugh!)

While my days are not quite lalaland or Mad Max, this is only because I spend a lot of time working to retain my inner peace. And believe me, it takes a lot of work. 

Just think about it for a moment, how can I really be of loving service to my clients, if I myself am in constant chaos? Without the inner peace work, delivering loving service just doesn’t work, or at least it doesn’t work for long before you’re spinning out of control.

For the female entrepreneur, mompreneur, solopreneur, bosspreneur, or the aspiring “I’m gonna be an entrepreneur”, there are so many things coming at you every day that zaps you and drains your energy.

I’m sure that right now you can think of at least five things off the top of your head that sucks the life right out of you.

Without the inner peace work, delivering loving service just doesn't work.

While remaining calm and stable on the inside may seem near impossible especially when everything and everyone around you is in shambles, it is possible to have that inner peace even during the daily grind of entrepreneurship.  

Of course, there are many outward things you can do to keep your stress in check like, take regular vacations, exercise, eat right, and get plenty of sleep, and every Millionairess Entrepreneur should incorporate as many of these into her lifestyle as possible. But when it comes to maintaining inner peace, well that takes being mindful which comes with patience and practice.

But when it comes to maintaining true inner peace in the midst of chaos, well that takes patience and practice.

Take a look at these 6 tips that I put into practice constantly.

Tip 1: Keep a personal journal handy.

Get the chaos out of your head and onto paper as quickly as possible. I guarantee you will feel instant relief. I recommend having a little portable journal on hand at all times. The purpose of the journal is for you to free up some mental real estate in your head. You want to relieve the pressure, and journaling is a great way to get what’s going on inside out. This not only helps you, but it also helps anyone who may be nearby. You don’t want to “splat” on some unsuspecting person by mistake. Too, as you get your words on to paper you can reflect on them during less pressured times and assess what the triggers are that’s leading to chaos. Writing in a journal helps you keep track of the thoughts you’ve built up in your head, which creates mind clutter and chaos. So get out pen and paper and start decluttering. Make a clearing for inner peace.

Tip 2: Start asking some questions.

Self-reflection is an amazing process. When you start asking questions of yourself, you get answers that come from you. No surprise right? That’s because there is no one who knows you better than you. Ask yourself questions like “what really does my ideal life looks like?” Or… “Am I really doing things in my business that harmonizes with me?” Armed with answers to these questions, you can now assess the situation. Is the outlook for your future good or do you need to start putting a plan together for an intentional change? Are you on the path to achievement? But most importantly, are you happy with what you see in front of you. These types of questions draw you more towards peace. Reflect on what truly makes you happy and the possibilities you see for your future.

Tip 3: Cultivate a consistent attitude of gratitude.

It is hard to feel bad even when things don’t look so rosy when you have a consistent attitude of gratitude. Operating from a position of gratitude does not mean you are delusional about the chaos of the moment. But hey, can you imagine how you can shift the situation by being grateful that you see the chaos and can actively take steps to bring peace and calm? Start cultivating this attitude by maintaining a daily list of things you appreciate, big, small, and every place in between. This keeps you motivated and grateful. When you feel yourself in a world of complaint or your progress slowing down, read through what you’ve written and get rejuvenated.

Tip 4: Take short physical and mental breaks.

What can you do to interrupt the chaos? What do you love to do to relax and unwind? Make a list of possibilities and implement them on a regular basis, like taking a quick power nap, walking around the block, getting re-centered through prayer or meditation, coloring in a coloring book, or practicing taking in a few deep breaths and releasing to relax your mind. My three favorites are: 1) watching cartoons. I love old cartoons – Bugs Bunny is a fav! I pop in a DVD and watch two or three clips and then back to work. 2) When the weather is good, pulling out my hammock and taking a 15-minute break looking up at the sky and sun gazing. This practice allows me to get some good vitamin D as well. 3) Opening up my Bible and reading a few scriptures. For me, this one gives me instant inner peace.

Tip 5: Stop chasing lions, tigers and shiny objects.

One of the best ways to retain inner peace is to maintain focus. I don’t know if people realize this, but constantly going from one thing to the next can cause feelings of chaos because your mind is trying to keep up with all the change. As a female entrepreneur, stop dropping high-priority tasks to pursue a less urgent one. This is one of the easiest ways to create chaos and overwhelm in your life and your business. Maintaining focus means you are doing just one thing, and you aren’t thinking about anything else. Try closing all of the open windows on your computer and keep open only the one you are working on for the next 60-minutes. When you plan out your day, create blocks of time so you can batch your work and focus on that piece of work until it is complete or at a natural stopping point. WOW, can you feel the peace on this one?

Tip 6: Learn and develop skills that increase your leadership effectiveness.

To maintain inner peace means learning how to organize, delegate, prioritize and avoid being a perfectionist, while still pursuing excellence in your business. Totally keeps your plate full, I know. So here’s a great opportunity to step into your leadership. This involves knowing when to say “no”, using time-saving tools to leverage, automate and delegate as you scale and grow your business. This also means when you don’t have the necessary skill set that you’ll reach out to gain the know-how you need to grow stronger rather than burn out faster.

Hey, I know that being in business for yourself is one of the hardest things you got going on. And that’s why you need inner peace. Having the ability to maintain inner peace is a skill you need to get very good at so you can forge ahead with sanity in your business – that’s The Millionairess Entrepreneur way. 

It may seem as if you can’t do much about the high-pressure situations and circumstances that come with being an entrepreneur, and maybe you can’t, but you do have the power to de-stress your mind and your emotions. 

Nobody can give this gift of inner peace to you because the potential of it is already in you. You must give it to yourself. Besides you are the boss. You have permission to treat yourself like royalty. Why not just do it?
